Course Dates: Friday 1-3.15pm 22nd May - 12th June

More details -

Over four engaging sessions, we’ll guide you through making complex forms, finishing techniques, covering the essentials of trimming, pulling and attaching handles, studio practice . This course is designed to add new levels to your throwing practice and to revise any areas you're unsure of to boost your making skills.

Rather than focusing on creating specific items, this course emphasizes material knowledge and experimentation to help you build robust skills.

  • Week 1:

Throwing refresher. A brief reminder of centering, pulling up and repetition.

  • Week 2:

All things trimming - Throwing jars and lidded forms, throwing and self-directed practice

  • Week 3:

Handle pulling and nobs and self directed practice.

  • Week 4:

Final week finishing projects and focusing on any areas you wish revise.

Classes are held once a week at the same time for six consecutive weeks, allowing you to steadily build and refine your skills. Build up your own bespoke body of work, ready for a glazing workshop (included in this ticket). The glazing course will be held after 2 weeks to ensure time for your work to be fired.

Expand your pottery skills and enjoy the creative process in a supportive and encouraging environment. Whether you're interested in wheel throwing, pottery making, or ceramics in general, our course offers valuable hands-on experience and knowledge.

All materials will be provided. Short nails are advised

This class is limited to 6 students and you will have access to your own wheel each session.

Participants must be aged 18 years and over
