Suzanne King – maker, artist, innovator, and potter.

Suzanne first discovered pottery while studying Fine Art during a university exchange in New York State in 1992, where she was introduced to the quiet rhythm and endless possibility of working with clay. Since then, pottery has remained a constant creative thread alongside a life spent working with vulnerable adults, raising a family, and helping run a working farm in Somerset. After many years of making simply for the joy of it, Suzanne has recently returned to selling her work, sharing her pieces through fairs, commissions, and her studio website.

Based at Manor Farm in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Suzanne works from her farm studio surrounded by over 1,000 acres of countryside, where family life, farming, and community are deeply connected. Alongside her pottery, she and her husband host a homeless hostel on the farm and run Root Connections CIC, supporting vulnerable adults through therapeutic horticulture, creativity, and community. Pottery sessions in the studio form part of this work, offering residents a chance to slow down, create, and rebuild confidence through making.

Her work is characterised by refined porcelain forms, soft natural tones, and a timeless simplicity that reflects both the landscape around her and the quiet beauty of everyday rituals. Inspired by the textures of the land and the understated elegance of functional ceramics, Suzanne creates tableware and decorative pieces designed to be lived with — from morning coffee to shared family meals, from garden flowers gathered in a jug to the simple pleasure of a handmade bowl held in the hand.

Blending craftsmanship with warmth and purpose, Manor Farm Pottery celebrates thoughtful making, connection, and the beauty found in daily life.
