Pottery Botanical Casting Friday 26th June 3-5.15 pm

Join us for a creative and relaxing floral casting workshop at Manor Farm with Suzanne King, set on a beautiful farm where you can forage for wildflowers or bring blooms and foliage from your own garden.

The workshop begins with a relaxed, step-by-step demonstration where you’ll learn how to prepare and roll out clay to form the base of your artwork. You’ll then be guided through arranging flowers and foliage on the clay’s surface, carefully pressing them in to capture their delicate textures and details.

Once your botanical design is complete, you’ll create a mould before mixing and pouring plaster over your clay impression. While the plaster sets (around 30 minutes), we’ll pause for tea, coffee and biscuits and talk through how to finish your piece.

Then comes the exciting part: peeling away the clay to reveal your beautiful floral cast — pure magic!

You will make one medium piece and a few little keepsakes.

For ages 12+. Special sessions for kids 8-12yrs are available during school holidays.

Includes clay, materials, glazing, and firing. Sessions last 2.5 hours, with a max of 5 participants.

Note: Remove jewelry/watches, and trim long nails for ease. Clay will wash out of clothes.

If you are contemplating joining a class, there is nothing like a full hands-on experience, working within a group of like-minded people, and getting a good feel for the facilities, energy and atmosphere of the studio.
